Emotion Lotion: PLAYlists and more!

E-Motion Lotion: Processing Feelings Through Movement.

I love talking about stuff that makes sense to me…

…And helping you learn about what makes sensations for you,

…and how your senses make sense of your world.

What have you seen?

What have you heard?

What have you felt?

And...

What do you REALLY want out of this experience?

Feeling is our medium of healing today because our seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching senses make sense of our world… and a LOT of the time those senses are overloaded - like having too many tabs open on your smartphone… we need to a way to offload some of the stress to our senses to help manage our sensory systems.

As a sensory individual I use my auditory system to keep me focused so I’ve created a PLAYlist that I'd like to use to lead you through a series of facilitating movements to help you tune into your feelings and emotions and give you a way to process them through movement... essentially soothing your senses so you feel better - like E-Motion Lotion :)

Music means so much to all of us because it moves something inside of us. The rhythms and tones play with our vibrational and emotional feeling senses and that means something!! What would if feel like, if just for today, you gave yourself permission to feel all the meaning behind each movement?? Your body is one big sensory organ, your personal ocean, your own body of water - and what would the ocean be without continuous motion?!? How would you feel if you could reset your operating systems for more Clarity, Unity, and Connection?

I'm so honored to guide you and excited for you to flow into your feeling body and get some motion in your ocean - let the music move you towards what soothes you InTouch, InCourage, InJOY!

Hopefully you can either click the "We Are a Tribe 24Kaia Retreat"  link above or copy and paste in your browser to access the following songs. You can either start at the beginning of the playlist for a full 45min session or skip right to the E-Motion Lotion Activity songs for a simple 3-7minute exercise. Whether you're spending 5 - 45minutes of your precious time and energy on this practice, the idea here is, to bring some "Loving Awareness" to your feeling body by giving you direct acces to ways to soothe your whole being and bring back some Clarity, Unity, and Connection to your authentic self. Only the songs with coordinating activites are listed below. When listening from the beginning the songs not listed are for your personal reflection time and to help transition between activities.

E-Motion Lotion Activities:

"I am loving awareness."

  • Song: I Am Loving Awareness: 7min. Vibe: Connection to your sensory pathways - breath, eyes, ears, and jaw.

Lie down comfortably and take deep, slow breaths to activate the vagus nerve, calming your nervous system.

1. **Eyes**: Rest your palms over your eyes to soothe the optic nerve (cranial nerve II), reducing visual overstimulation.
2. **Ears**: Place your palms over your ears to engage the vestibulocochlear nerve (cranial nerve VIII), improving balance and auditory processing.
3. **Jaw**: Rest your palms on your jaw to relax the trigeminal nerve (cranial nerve V), easing facial and jaw tension.
4. **Tongue**: Move your tongue around your teeth and cheeks to activate the hypoglossal nerve (cranial nerve XII), enhancing oral and motor control.

As you calm these sensory pathways, you're also soothing the brainstem, which plays a key role in mood regulation and overall well-being. Like an orchestra conductor bringing your senses into harmony, this practice helps your brain control emotions, reduce stress, and guide your body with clarity and ease.

Personal Reflection time... What are you feeling? And where are you feeling it in your body? Let's take a moment so you can asses how you felt before and after the sensory exploration and connection to your sensory pathways through your breath, eyes, ears, nose, jaw, and tongue movements.

"We are a Tribe awakening! Listen to the rhythm of the universe!"

  • Song: We Are A Tribe: 5min. Vibe: Unity!! Rebounding back into your feeling body.

Start by standing in a clear space and gently bouncing at the knees. Let the bounce travel through your whole body as you tap your heart, shoulders, belly and beyond, essentially saying a loving hello to your joints and body parts. This will encourage you to explore your whole body, which promotes lymphatic fluidity, body awareness, freedom of movement, and a joyful sense of presence. Feel free to add some whooping and howling if it feels right!

Just like a smartphone with too many tabs open slows down, your body can feel sluggish when overloaded. This playful movement is your magic reset button. As your body maps its surroundings, opposing joint movements clear the clutter, restoring your sparkle. Energy returns, pain fades, and you’re ready to shine!

Personal Reflection time... What are you feeling? And where are you feeling it in your body? Let's take a moment so you can asses how you felt before and after the bouncing, tapping, and free movement exercise.

"Where your focus goes your energy flows"

  • Song: El Millonario: 3min. Vibe: Clarity!! - Enthusiastic clapping, shouting, and laughing for energy! Yay!

For group clapping, start with a simple call-and-response. Kaia Girl says, “My name is Sonya,” and the group responds with an enthusiastic, “Sonya, YAY!” If you’re doing this solo, clap along with some music and chant, “Very good, very good, YAY!” Experiment with different tones, volumes, and even accents—whatever adds to the fun. YAY!

Vocal and auditory activities—like enthusiastic shouting, clapping, and laughter—stimulate cranial nerves, especially the vagus nerve, promoting relaxation and well-being. Laughter also engages core muscles, making it a fun cardio and ab workout. By taking up space vocally, you boost mood, improve nerve function, and energize your body. YAY!

Personal Reflection time... What are you feeling? And where are you feeling it in your body? Let's take a moment so you can asses how you felt before and after the clapping and YAYing!

"You're so beautiful, why you trippin' girl."

  • Song: Girl: 3min. Vibe: Connection!! - Connecting or reconnecting to our authentic selves to feel fully present in our world.

w/ partners or self guided w/ mirror - hands/eyes locked say to your partner or yourself (out loud):  “I see you”, repeat with hands on hearts saying: “I feel You”, now bow towards your partner or your heart, forehead bowed or hugging, hands on back or shoulders, humming “I hear you”.

The vagus nerve, crucial for regulating stress, also enhances interoception—our awareness of internal states. By boosting vagal tone through breath, voice, and connection, we build trust in ourselves and in others. Just like closing tabs on a smartphone, this calms our "operating system," helping us feel seen, heard, and fully present in the world.

Personal Reflection time... What are you feeling? And where are you feeling it in your body? Let's take a moment so you can asses how you felt before and after practicing being seen, felt, and heard.

Please listen and use what I've provided as guidance or go "off script" and come up with your own movements...have FUN with it... that's the point!  Thank you for opening your senses and connecting Healing with Feeling with me today!! I hope you've learned a little bit how to use music as Emotion lotion to help sooth your senses and keep yourself InTouch, InCourage, and InJOY a little bit everyday!!
